"and now we welcome the new year full of things that have never been"
No really, today is a huge day for us. Well I guess before jumping into why today is so great I should really back up and start with who the "us" is.
We are Taylor and Heather. Two high school best friends who love Jesus, coffee and all things weddings. With cosmetology degree in hand we headed out into the world to beautify one head of hair at a time. We were hairstylist with a love for wedding hair and makeup. When our clients announced their engagements or their daughters or even best friends engagement we jumped right on board to glam them up for the day. Something about leaving the salon for the day and being at a beautiful venue surrounded by people who loved and adored this bride to be that the sight of them in full makeup, hair teased and pinned perfectly in place made them tear up with pure excitement, gave us this amazing feeling. We couldn't wait until the next wedding!
Over time we had brides and their wedding parties ask us questions like, "do ya'll have an Instagram for your wedding hair and makeup? or "where can I find pictures of your work?".
Funny thing is we have never even thought of taking pictures of our work outside of the salon. Not even once. We took pictures of cuts and color transformations everyday at the salon but weddings never crossed our minds.
One day it finally hit us. We loved weddings so much. And planning a wedding is tough but every aspect of it should make a bride feel special, even if it is choosing who will do her hair and makeup for her big day. And let's be really honest, there is no small task in choosing who will make you feel your most beautiful on your wedding day. Shorty after this epiphany we meet at Starbucks (where else?) and had our very first "business" meeting. We discussed our vision, who we wanted to be, our brand and last but not least how we would make our brides feel special. We worked hard for two straight months getting everything together. Putting together our hopes and dreams and making our vision come alive.
